Michels Demands Immediate Halt to Work of Evers Pardon, Parole Boards

WEST ALLIS, Wisc. – Today, Tim Michels delivered a letter to Gov. Tony Evers demanding an immediate halt to the work of the Wisconsin Parole Commission and Pardon Advisory Board. The people of Wisconsin now know that scores of heinous criminals have been released into our communities.

As reported by Wisconsin Right Now, at least 884 convicted criminals have been released early by Tony Evers’ Parole Commission and are now living in Wisconsin communities. The list of offenders includes more than 270 murderers and attempted murderers, and more than 44 child rapists.

In the letter, Michels wrote that criminals who commit heinous acts deserve to serve their full sentence.

“The work of the Wisconsin Parole Commission is putting hundreds of the very worst back into neighborhoods all across the state. It is endangering Wisconsinites. The least you could do to improve public safety in Wisconsin is to suspend the acts of your Parole Commission, and your Pardon Advisory Board, immediately,” Michels wrote.
